Sammy, our Wellbeing Lead, organises a full and varied programme of events and activities to promote and enhance the enjoyment and wellbeing of the people who live here. Residents have the opportunity to participate in games mornings, sporting activities, flower arranging, quizzes, word games, puzzles and board games, arts and crafts, music and baking, exercise and art classes. Sammy arranges for members of the local community to come and give talks and presentations on a range of topics of interest and liaises with our local schools, inviting children and students to engage with our residents in mutually rewarding activities. Professional entertainers also visit as part of a well balanced activity programme.
Our STAR Group (staff and residents) meets monthly to discuss life at Compton House and this forum encourages people to have a regular input to the activities, outings and events that are planned. This has resulted in some new and innovative ideas.
Every Sunday morning there is a service held in the lounge which is led by members of the three Churches in the village. In addition there is a mid-week Songs of Praise and Bible Study. Although participation is encouraged, residents are free to choose whether or not they wish to take part.
Thank you Sue for a relaxing morning
