The Senior Management Team
Is led by the Registered Manager Paula Craen, Susan Jones is the Deputy Manager, Pennie Burton Office Manager with responsibility for Human Resources, Paul Mayne is the Finance Manager and Judith White Administrator. Collectively they all play a part in ensuring the home runs effectively and efficiently and in accordance with the legal and regulatory requirements. The Health & Safety and Facilities Officer, who reports to the Registered Manager is responsible for ensuring the home is compliant with all health and safety legislation and leads the maintenance team.
Paula Craen RGN RMN BEd (Hons)
Is the Registered Manager of Lindfield Christian Care Home. She has spent her whole working life in nursing and was the youngest nurse in her hospital to be promoted to her first Sisters post. She has worked predominantly in the Health Service, both in general medical and surgical care and the psychiatric service, more latterly in the Social Care Sector. She has worked for charitable organisations for the last eight years in senior management positions and has always spent some of her time throughout her life supporting charities by volunteering. She derives much pleasure from seeing residents thrive and achieve their potential. Family life is very important to her and she also has a love of travel.
Susan Jones RGN
Susan is the Deputy Manager and heads up the team of Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants and is responsible for all aspects of the physical and emotional care of residents. She also deputises for the Registered Manager. Susan qualified as a Registered General Nurse in January 1987. She then worked at Crawley Hospital as a Staff Nurse, Ward Sister and finally Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit Manager for eighteen years. Susan originally took up the post of Senior Nurse, Compton House in January 2005 and was then promoted to Deputy Manager in March 2007. Susan is an active member of Lindfield Evangelical Free Church.
Pennie is the Home’s Office Manager with responsibility for HR matters and general day to day office duties working 3 days per week. Pennie joined the Home in December 2010. Pennie has long had an interest in the care of the elderly having volunteered in a care home through the Girl Guides from the age of 10! Apart from her role here Pennie is very involved in supporting her husband, the Parish Priest in Balcombe and in particular with fundraising for the church’s ongoing refurbishment and has many interests including her dogs and house rabbit!
Paul is the Home’s Finance Manager with responsibility for financial matters of the Home which includes managing and collecting Residents fees, paying suppliers and staff payroll, working 3 days a week. Paul joined the Home in February 2013 after many years working for a high street bank in London, the last 5 years dealing mainly with Corporate Charity customers. As a committed Christian, Paul has worshipped at Gateway Baptist Church in Burgess Hill for many years and is fully involved in church life including having been their Treasurer for a number of these. For recreation Paul enjoys reading and watching sport, including being a season ticket holder at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Judith works two and a half days a week as the Home’s Administrator. She helps with day to day financial matters as well as general office administration including managing the domestic staff rotas. Judith came to work at the home in August 2008 after moving to Haywards Heath from Richmond-upon-Thames. Prior to her move Judith worked for twenty five years at Digby Stuart College, Roehampton University where she was responsible for the College finances and also supported students in the Halls of Residence. Judith is a member of All Saints Church, Lindfield, belongs to a local art appreciation group and loves spending time with her six grandchildren.
