We celebrated Robbie Burns's Birthday in traditional style
We had a thoroughly enjoyable day celebrating the birthday of Robbie Burns on 25th January. A traditional Burns Night Supper was served at lunch with Peter, our resident from Scotland, reading the address to the haggis. In the afternoon residents, relatives and our chair of Trustees read poems and another relative played guitar and sang Scottish ballads. Everyone was then treated to a Scottish dance performed by some of our staff and the bagpipes were played by the local piper, Peter Candy. The atmosphere here was wonderful and a big thank you to everyone that contributed - as ever, our staff going the extra mile!
