About Lindfield Christian Care Home

(Compton House)

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Lindfield, West Sussex, Lindfield Christian Care Home, also known as Compton House, has been a sanctuary of compassionate care since 1992. We are a non-profit, charitable organisation with a strong Christian ethos, dedicated to providing a secure, relaxed, and homely environment for all our residents. Our beautiful Grade II listed building, Compton House, offers a sense of history and character, creating a truly unique and welcoming place to call home.

The story of Lindfield Christian Care Home is one of remarkable community spirit and collaboration. In the late 1980s, the three historic churches of Lindfield – All Saints Church (Church of England), Lindfield United Reformed Church, and Lindfield Evangelical Free Church – came together with a shared vision. They sought to create a place where the elderly and those in need of care could live in comfort and dignity, supported by a loving and Christian environment. This vision became a reality in 1989 with the formation of 'The Lindfield Churches Residential Home' charity, which proudly opened the doors of Compton House in 1992.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care, where the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents are met with the utmost respect and kindness. We believe in promoting individuality and ensuring that every person in our care feels valued and understood. Our dedicated team of experienced nurses and trained healthcare assistants works tirelessly to create personalised care plans that cater to the unique needs and preferences of each resident, fostering a true sense of belonging and well-being.

Compton House itself is a significant part of our identity. This handsome Victorian-era residence, with its elegant Regency features, provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. Situated on Compton Road, just a stone's throw from Lindfield's charming High Street, our residents enjoy the convenience of nearby shops, cafes, and the village's iconic pond. The proximity to our founding churches also allows for continued spiritual connection and community involvement for those who wish to partake.

We offer a comprehensive range of care services to meet the diverse needs of our community, including 24-hour nursing care, residential support, and specialised dementia care. We also provide respite, palliative, and end-of-life care, ensuring that every stage of life is met with compassion, dignity, and peace. Our dedicated team is committed to providing a seamless continuum of care, adapting to the changing needs of our residents and offering unwavering support to them and their families.

For over three decades, Lindfield Christian Care Home has remained true to its founding principles of faith, compassion, and community. We are proud of our heritage and the legacy of the three churches that brought us into being. As we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing a loving and supportive home, where every resident is cherished and can live their life to the fullest.
